Prepare for your home inspection with the following steps:

Plan to Be There

Shaking Hands

We love it if the home buyer is there for the inspection.  This is your opportunity to ask questions and for the inspector to give you an introduction to the components and intricacies of your house.

Typically a home inspection will take about 2-3 hours and at the end the inspector will wrap up by doing a summary with the buyer and walkthrough of important access points and safety controls.

Make Sure Power and Water are On

Electrician

Make sure either you or your agent have communicated with the homeowner to verify that all doors are unlocked, personal belongings aren't blocking access or visibility of important components, and water and power are turned on.

3

Read and sign the Inspection Agreement and Standards of Practice (SOP)

Done Deal

We need a signed copy of the inspection agreement before we can release the inspection report to you, and the SOP provides you information on all the things that are included in the scope of a standard home inspection and what is outside the scope.  (Reading and understanding the SOP and Inspection Agreement can really help you get the most out of your inspection)
