Recent Problems We've found

A lack of sufficient insulation was found in a recent attic inspection. Attics should have at least R-38 insulation or roughly 10-14 inches of blow in insulation. Insulation is critical to thermal performance and and lowering energy costs.

Insufficient Attic Insulation

Insufficient Insulation was seen at the time of inspection. Consult a contractor for further evaluation and repair.

Our inspector found galvanized plumbers tape used to improperly secure the hot water tank to the wall. This is an important safety feature and something we always check for and many mortgage companies require.

Install two seismic straps at the top and bottom third of the tank and secure these to a wall stud or support post.

No Seismic Strapping

Seismic tie downs are missing or improperly installed. These ensure potable water in the event of a natural disaster and secure the tank from movement.
